The two partner universities maintain and promote ten years of interdisciplinary cooperation

„The highest education is that which makes our life in harmony with all existence“ (Rabindranath Tagore) was the central idea of the International Conference "Harmony 2019" from January 9 to 12 on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Christ University, which was attended by several members of the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt.

In addition to the President, Professor Dr. Robert Grebner, the meeting was chaired by the Vice President, Professor Dr. Gabriele Saueressig, the former Vice President, Professor Dr. Sibylle Wollenschläger, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Professor Dr. Axel Bialek and Professor Dr. Rainer Wehner. In her speech, Professor Dr. Vathsala Aithal gave insights into her work on the topic "International Social Work and Social Cohesion in a Global Perspective" and on the Master's program "International Social Work with Refugees and Migrants" of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences of  FHWS, which, according to FHWS, met with a consistently positive response from the audience. Furthermore, the lectures by Professor Dr. Bialek on "Sustainable Development of Universities of Applied Sciences" and Professor Dr. Wehner on "Tax Avoidance" led to lively discussions in the auditorium.

In her closing speech, Professor Dr. Saueressig appreciated "the smooth course of the conference", praised the organizer, Dr. Kurian Kachappilly, "for the professional organization" and thanked her for "the extremely warm hospitality shown to the members of the FHWS".

Christ University has been a partner of numerous faculties of FHWS for ten years. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the dual continuing education program "Master Business with Europe", a delegation consisting of the leader of the degree program Professor Dr. Uwe Sponholz (Faculty of Business and Engineering) and the Professors Dr. Ulrich Deutschle (Faculty of Business and Engineering), Michael Müßig (Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems) and Dr. Sven Warnke (Faculty of Applied Social Sciences) as well as external lecturers and staff members who are active in the programme, flew to Bangalore to commemorate the successful partnership between the two universities and to deepen it further already in November 2018.

In addition to the technical and cultural events organized by Christ University, the FHWS members also had the opportunity to make new contacts and exchange ideas with other representatives of other partner universities of Christ University from Australia, Belgium, France and the USA during the one-week program.

According to the organizers, a highlight of the visit was the meeting with former graduates of the Master Business with Europe, who reported on their experiences during their studies in Germany as well as on their professional successes after completing their studies.

In addition, there is a ten-year partnership with the  Faculty of Computer Science and Business Information Systems, which organizes a two-week excursion with German students in Bangalore every year as part of the so-called "India Gateway Program" as an elective subject.

The aim of the delegation was also to renew and expand existing contacts with Christ University and the RV College of Engineering and to agree on new strategic options for cooperation.
