Programme objective

We want to qualify you for the job on an academic basis. This means: 

• You will be able to identify, quantify, and assess organisational and technical logistic problems.
• You will develop case-related, applicable solutions with the help of scientific methods independently or in a team.
• You will visualise and communicate the solutions found to co-workers, employees and superiors.

As a Bachelor of Engineering, you will find a wide variety of opportunities for starting your career.

The defining technical term today is “Supply Chain Management”: the planning, implementation and control of supply chains between industry, trade, serve providers and consumers. Internal logistics departments and external logistics service providers (such as forwarding agents) perform transport, warehousing and handling functions in the material flows. In addition, they plan and control the corresponding information flows.

In such value chains, it will be your task to design technical and organisational logistics systems in and between companies in such a way that inventories are kept to a minimum, the availability of goods is high, and the logistics costs required for this are kept low. A special logistical challenge for modern supply chains is to react flexibly and at short notice to changing customer requirements and to balance fluctuations in demand in a resource-saving manner.

As this is typically a cross-sectional function in companies, you should bring not only technical know-how, but also enthusiasm, the willingness to make decisions and assert yourself, as well as social skills.
