Since March 2019, three students of the 2nd semester of the Bachelor’s degree programme Business and Engineering have been working together with students of the University of Applied Sciences Esslingen on the topic "Key Player & Innovation Paths of the Chinese Digital Economy".

The joint project took place within the framework of the "Chinese Project Semester", which the University of Applied Sciences Kiel offers as part of the "Innovative Concepts for the Expansion of China Competence at Universities" funding programme of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). By participating in the "Chinese Project Semester", students are offered the opportunity to systematically develop their know-how on China.

The students first met at the kick-off event at the beginning of the semester at the University of Applied Sciences Kiel. The students worked on the project topics in decentralized self-organised groups. Support was given by mentors. On 7 May, the students presented the results of the project in Shanghai at the Chinese-German University of Applied Sciences (CDHAW) at Tongji University.

The students' feedback on the programme: "It is a great experience to be part of such a programme and to get a first insight into the Chinese culture".
