Business and Engineering: International students won the Hackathon in Marktheidenfeld

The teaching content at FHWS prepares the students optimally for the needs of the companies.

Three international students of the Faculty of Business and Engineering took part in the Hackathon "Electromobility meets industry 4.0" of the Marktheidenfeld-based company Schneider Electric Automation GmbH. 34 students took part in the competition and worked on the task for the entire night. Antonio Vera Arbelo, Gustavo Pinto, Ayberk Yüsek from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) were honored as overall winners and for the best technical implementation.

The aim of the hackathon was the automated loading of an electric car at a charging station and the automated loading and unloading of a truck via a filling station.

The Dean of the faculty, Professor Dr. Peter Meyer,as well as Professors Dr. Jan Schmitt and Dr. Bastian Engelmann congratulated the trio. They are proud of their participation and how they shown initiative during their studies. It had been shown that the teaching content in theory and application in relation to industry 4.0 met the current needs of the companies, this had been confirmed to a certain extent by winning the overall prize.
