The Faculty of Business and Engineering entertains partnerships with almost 30 higher education institutions worldwide. We strive for further developing international cooperation with partners from higher education as well as industry to devise new ways of (virtual) collaboration. Student exchange

Criteria for the selection of partnerships

• Equivalent range of courses with the possibility to transfer a minimum of 30 ECTS-credit points. For the credit transfer, the learning outcomes of modules should correspond to the module descriptions of Business and Engineering/Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen or Logistics/Logistik. One ECTS-credit point equals a workload of 30 teaching hours including contact time of 12 teaching hours (one teaching hour = 45 minutes).
• Courses taught in English
• For lecture/examination periods, the academic calendar of the partner institution should roughly correspond to the THWS academic calendar.
• Safe and attractive study location with good local support
• A lively relationship with a good network of lecturers in the field of teaching and/or research.

Guest lectureships during the International Week

We are glad that we can frequently welcome guest lecturers from our partner universities in Schweinfurt. Guest lecturers may either arrange their stay individually or come for the THWS International Week. Here, they can teach block courses, have the chance to enlarge their network with other guest lecturers, and get to know the region’s culture during the supporting programme offered by our Faculty.  

Research stays

Research stays are a good way to intensify cooperation. Academics from our partner universities use our labs and work on specific issues together with THWS professors.

Projects

Our partnership with Aubrun University (USA) is an example of a successful cooperation on a project basis. Representatives of Auburn University are staying at our faculty for six weeks to teach students of Auburn University in international project management together with THWS lecturers on the basis of actual industrial projects.

Double degrees

Within the scope of the German University Consortium for International Cooperations (DHIK), we have double degree agreements with Tec de Monterrey, Mexico, and Tongji University, Shanghai. We welcome the expansion of double degree arrangements.

Close relations to industrial enterprises

Schweinfurt is an important industry location and the Faculty of Business and Engineering maintains lively relationships to its local partners. Opportunities therefore arise for an international integration of partner universities and industrial enterprises, for example when an industrial enterprise has branches both at the location of the partner university and in Schweinfurt.
